[Xtartups Interviewer] What's your product's elevator pitch?
As a newsletter writer, you are constantly looking for new ways to grow your newsletter.
You are very active on Twitter and are getting more and more followers. But how do you convert these followers to subscribers?
RevSyncs enables you to add a "subscribe" button on your Twitter profile.
It syncs your Twitter newsletter subscribers to your existing newsletter tool. Your followers can easily subscribe on Twitter, and you can keep using the tools you love.
A no-brainer, right?
[Xtartups Interviewer] Tell us a bit about your team.
I am David Lo Dico, 26 years old. I recently moved from Amsterdam to Bali, where I will be staying for a while.
6 months ago, I didn't know how to write a single line of code. I have had a quite successful nootropics business a couple of years ago. Then I decided to works as a digital innovation consultant for two years in large international organizations. I was feeling stuck in that job, so I saved up and quit my job!
That might have been the best and the most stressful decision I ever made. I had enough cash to support myself for a couple of years, so I decided to do something where I knew I would excel! I started to learn how to code and build SaaS businesses. It was so exciting and it still is!
First I made http://24hoursofnft.com, where NFT artists can buy seconds of the day to have their art displayed on. Forever!
Today, over 8000 seconds have been claimed by 200+ artists!
Next, I build http://revsync.io in just 10 days! I have learned so much from my previous project.
So I launched it on Producthunt and became #3 of the day!
I have a good mixture of business and tech in me. I am excited to continue to work on more projects in the future!
[Xtartups Interviewer] What motivated you to work on this product?
Twitter recently acquired Revue, a newsletter tool. They are working hard to integrate Revue into Twitter, which is awesome! They are offering amazing features and will add even more in the future. This is a great opportunity for a lot of content creators, who are often also very active on Twitter.
However, a large part of content creators is currently using other tools they love. I want to help them make use of Twitter's new features, without being forced to leave the tools they love.
[Xtartups Interviewer] Tell us where you are in this product/company's journey?
RevSync has been build just a month ago. I am currently focused on adding more features, improving the SEO of the site and mostly work on marketing.
[Xtartups Interviewer] What has been your biggest learning moment in this journey?
Sharing my story about RevSync might just be as important as building RevSync!
[Xtartups Interviewer] What has been your biggest validation for creating this product and taking it to the market?
From the initial idea to launch took just 10 days. I launched it on Producthunt, became the 3rd of the day and got a lot of new customers.
[Xtartups Interviewer] How did you find your first 10 customers?
Via the launch on Producthunt.
[Xtartups Interviewer] If you weren't working on this product, which other product/idea would you be pursuing?
I am still pursuing new ideas all the time. I am currently focused on finding more ways to help newsletter creators!
[Xtartups Interviewer] Who is your favorite bootstrapped founder? And why? I might be a bit biased here, but I have been a close friend of Danny Postma for years. I have seen him grow and have learned a lot from him!
[Xtartups Interviewer] What book or podcast has helped you in this journey?
I am addicted to the My First Million podcast from Sam Parr and Shaan Puri.
[Xtartups Interviewer] What do you wish you knew when you started working on this idea?
I wished that I would know how effective building in the open can be!
[Xtartups Interviewer] For someone who is thinking of starting a bootstrapped business, what would be the one thing they should watch out for?
The most common error I see is that people are waiting too long to launch! You want to get to your customers and their feedback as fast as possible.
[Xtartups Interviewer] Are you hiring for any positions? If yes, how can people reach out to you?
Not hiring at the moment.
